After Neetu, Amit Pinghal also won a gold medal in boxing.Amit Pinghal won the gold medal in boxing at the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Sunday. In the men’s 52 kg weight category final, Amit defeated England’s Kieran McDonald to win the gold medal.

Pinghal had won a silver medal in the previous edition of the Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast. At flyweight, he defeated silver medalist Kieran Macdonald 5-0. This is India’s 15th gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022.

This took India’s total medal tally to 43, including 15 gold, 11 silver and 17 bronze. Currently, India is at the fifth position in the number of medals (India in CWG 2022). Earlier, Neetu Ghanghas won the gold medal in the 48 kg category.
